Being taller than the average bride at 5ft 9", Marta's statuesque frame was swamped by the styles she initially thought might work for her body type. Creating the perfect wedding dress for Marta was a labor of love and meticulous artistry. Marta was very specific on the design details she wanted to experiment with so, we spent the afternoon trying varying shapes and design details from which to draw inspiration. The final idea for her gown was an accumulation of different influences from the gowns in the studio private collection. The process
Marta's gown was elegantly crafted from textured pure silk sourced from our suppliers in Spain. The upper bodice featured internal corsetry for optimal shaping and structure. The A-line skirt was draped to create a softer silhouette, complete with pockets and gentle pleating that added fullness without appearing bulky or rigid. The oversized bow at the back neck was a striking burst of inspiration. We both felt that the dress was in need of a little extra flair, which led us to begin experimenting with sashes and bows. The upper neckline was delicately adorned with crystals and pearls, leaving the back neck area as a blank canvas for further creativity. When Marta saw the oversized bow during the fitting, she was nearly brought to tears, and I couldn’t help but feel emotional too; it was truly stunning and set her gown apart from anything she had ever seen.
The Fittings
Throughout the fittings, Marta's emotions were a whirlwind of excitement, anxiety, and anticipation. Each time she slipped into her bespoke gown, a glimmer of hope illuminated her face, as she envisioned herself stepping out into the courtyard over looking the lake of the Villa Pizzo, Lake Como. The initial worries and the pressure of time slipping away was now a bygone fear, enabling her to focus on the design details such as "would the skirt volumne be too wide?" Marta simply trusted the collaborative process, listening carefully and thoughtfully during every fitting and weighing up the suggestions against her ideas of perfection. With every wedding dress fitting, there were flashes of joy as the dress took shape moving closer to the vision that she had. The support of her wedding planner, Deneise, and the skilled tailoring process provided a comforting presence, helping to ease her worries. As the fittings progressed, Marta's confidence soared, realising that with each adjustment, she was one step closer to achieving her dream look.

Words cannot describe how grateful I am that my path crossed with Cynthia's in such an important time for me. She's created a dream dress for my big day and have helped me to feel beautiful, unique and comfortable while being able to express myself at the same time. Her passion, professionalism and beautiful heart allowed me to find a truly safe space in her studio, during a very stressful time.
